This course will give you the knowledge, tools, and confidence to run a successful Code Club for young people.
In this three-week course, you’ll explore how to start and run a Code Club, including important considerations for planning and strategies. First, you will identify what you would like to achieve by running a Code Club, consider what is needed for a successful Code Club session, and create a plan for your first Code Club session.
In the second week of the course, you will identify ways to support the young creators in your club by considering accessibility needs and learning how to adapt resources. You will also learn about ways to inspire the young people in your club and how to celebrate success.
In the final week, you’ll learn about ways to encourage your creators to be independent, discover exciting learning opportunities for your creators in Astro Pi and Coolest Projects, and learn about how to access support for your Code Club journey from the Code Club team.
By the end of this course, you’ll be ready to start and maintain a Code Club that not only promotes the importance of coding skills in your community, but also encourages creativity, group work, and a love of learning in young people. We’re excited to see the difference you’ll make in your community.
